Third week

After having a good dry first two weeks, we have had a rather wet third week which has held us up a little, mainly turfing the new bunkers and rough areas. As you can see from the pictures, we have really achieved a lot in 3 weeks, with the sleeper wall on the 7th hole finished and bunkers on 8th and 9th ready for turf.

Weather depending, we hope to have by christmas the 7th and 9th all complete and all the bunkering finished on 8th. The lake edge on 8th hole will take a few more weeks, as we will start the new edging tomorrow.

First weeks construction

The first week has gone really well with the weather being on our side. We have managed to dig out the 7th lake into the approach and installed some of the metal uprights, that will hold the sleeper wall in place.

Moving onto the 8th, the new paths have been dug out and boarded at the sides, with a hard base put in ready for the concrete.DSC_0541

As some of you might have seen when driving in, the 8th bunkering is really starting to take shape. The greenside bunkers have been shaped ready for liner and top soil, which will be finished next week. The white lines you see on the bunkers, will be  the height of the sand.

When you look at the photos of the 8th green bunkering below, you will see the blue flags dotted around which will represent the edge of the new sleeper wall. These two holes are really starting to take shape and will look amazing when finished.

Buckinghamshire G.C Construction Project

IMG_2057The time has come around quickly with construction starting next week. I have put a plan in place which can keep the course open, but with some holes having temporary greens. There will be weekly up dates for all members via this blog, which can be found at the bottom of the clubs regular email.

I hope to share with you pictures and updates of the work carried out each week for you to see. I hope to add as much detail in these blogs for you to understand each process of every hole, and if there are any set backs we might have.

We will start work on holes 7 & 8 first and then move onto 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th ,18th and finish on the 1st. Holes 7 & 8 will be out of action for about 6 weeks, as they have the most work being done to them in the first phase.

There will be a temporary hole on the 1st (par 3), then playing to the 1st green as a par 4. You can then play around in order untill  the 7th which will be made into a par 3 (7a), then walking to the 18th tee (18a) to play a par 3 and then playing to the green (18th B) par 4. When you finish on the 18th green, you then walk to the 10th tees and play around to the 17th (finishing hole) and walk in from there. If you have any questions feel free to get in contact with me at any time.
